One of R. Kelly’s former employees reportedly told a federal grand jury in Illinois that the embattled singer often recorded himself having sex with underage girls and claimed that they turned some of the tapes over to the feds.

Sources told TMZ that the former employee testified Thursday that he was in possession of some of the illicit tapes but Kelly, 52, had paid them off to reclaim them. Nevertheless, those tapes reportedly somehow got into the hands of Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx.

In February, Cook County authorities charged Kelly with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse concerning four women, three whom were were underage at the time.

Last week, the singer was charged in the same county with 11 additional counts of sex assault—four counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault, two counts of criminal sexual assault by force, two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, and three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. The latest batch of criminal charges allegedly involves a victim between the ages 13 and 16.

TMZ reported that the ex-employee gave federal authorities some of the illegal tapes. Sources also told the outlet that the ex-employee knew of Kelly’s attraction to young girls and helped the singer obtain them instead of contacting authorities.

A spokesperson for U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois declined TMZ’s request for comment. Meanwhile, Kelly’s attorney told the outlet that they’ll be addressing the allegations in court.
